The fragments of data and comm records from the Marine boarding party that entered the derelict indicates that they were likely killed in action fighting an unidentified alien force. Details are sparse at best. I listen through once more.

The year is 1109. The Fifth Frontier War between the Third Imperium and the Zhodani and allies has been grinding on for nearly 2 years now. The Imperium forces have been fighting hard, but with the war occurring on three fronts, it's been a war of attrition.

Imperial Intelligence has identified that the Sword Worlds systems of Tizon and Colada are very lightly defended (a squadron or two of patrol frigates at most). A strike at either system, especially with them being so close to Joyeuse, should pull enough forces off the Dyrnwyn-Hofud-Biter line so that a follow-up attack through Hofud could allow the Imperium to punch through to Beater - or even Sacnoth! This would very likely force the Sword Worlders to capitulate and cease hostilities in this sector. That would then give the Imperium the necessary breathing room and resources to re-focus more forces against the Zhodani.

But as the well-known saying goes, the best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry in the face of reality...

Along with a force of Harkonnen House troops, they seek to eliminate the "Fremen trash" and restore Spice production as well as the honor of House Harkonnen! The game will also include a Spice Harvester and (as no Dune game would be complete without it) a Sandworm! Several Dune Characters are represented also for the Fremen including Paul, Stilgar, Gurney Halleck, and (if the player choses) even Chani!

Thanh looked upwards toward the stars -- the jungle was dark and they provided the only light as there could be no fires. In two days he would be moving on Hue with the rest of his unit. Morale was high, of course, but his comrade's eyes betrayed their true feelings. It was natural to worry before a fight. Especially so when so many of his companions were so inexperienced. They would be blooded soon.

As he scanned the northern sky Thanh noticed four stars aligned in a linear fashion. As an amateur astronomer he knew the constellations and didn't recognize this formation. As he continued to look he saw that they were moving. How strange that four meteors would come at the same time.

It was a good omen to be sure.

We interrupt this holoprogram to bring you this breaking news. The Gilderstein Foundation's L5 space laboratory has mysteriously vanished from orbit.

The service vessel Lankton was en route to the station with the monthly shipment of supplies when the crew reported seeing a momentary flash of light off of or from the station, then, it was gone. When the Lankton arrived to the location of the L5 station, there was no trace of it anywhere. It was determined that the station did not explode, as there was no debris field. But its disappearance is a mystery.

Officials at the Gilderstein Foundation indicate that they are not able to explain why the station simply just vanished.

A search for survivors came up empty. There were also no bodies.

"We are always working on cutting edge technology, but nothing that would just make a station disappear", said Tatjana Janney, Gilderstein's public representative.

"Not even the most sophisticated stealth systems we have to date can cause something to completely and totally vanish like that."

"We would suspect foul play from other companies, but there were no other ships in the area, and there was no debris field left behind. It's as if the station simply ceased to exist."

The Anglian Confederation Space Authority is following up with a detailed investigation. Until then, all traffic to the L5 region is restricted.

Way back in time. Well 7 years to be exact. At ECC 7, Mike Hudak ran a Sunday morning blood bath called FMA Frag. Well we decided it was high time to resurrect the idea, update the concept with utilizing 3d terrain and have another go at it. The rules-set is Steve Jackson's Frag mixed with the FMA combat system. The concept: "if it moves...shoot it!!!" As Mike wrote: Well, what do you want to do when you're all bleary eyed on Sun morning from no sleep and an advanced case of lead poisoning.....

Why, blast your buddies to smithereens in a light hearted game, of course!
