TABLE #1
Full Metal Thrust: Attack On The Death Star
Complexity Game Master Game Type Players
Moderate Martin Connell &
Steve Barosi
Full Metal Thrust
(FT & FMA)
4-10
Description
Get ready to play FMA Skirmish in deep space as you command the ships from the glorious last battle of the first Star Wars film. Take control of Tie fighters for the filthy imperial scum or choose to fight with the Force behind you in the X & Y wings of the Rebellion.

The Emperor commands you to thwart the Rebel attack, sally forth with endless waves of deadly Tie fighters and blast the Rebels down with gun turrets on the Death Star.

The Rebels must attempt to get into the trench and land the perfect shot with a proton torpedo. Make use of the Force to boost your pilot's accuracy or piloting skill. Use your R2 unit to angle shields and repair your ship. Let your wingman take the hit for you as you attempt to zero in on that all important last shot.

TABLE #2
And the Sky Full of Stars
Complexity Game Master Game Type Players
Introductory Aaron Newman EarthForce Sourcebook 4-8
Description
Withdrawl, Strategic Retreat, Regrouping, Strengthening Supply Lines. These were the terms the Earth Force press releases used. But the residents of the Delphi IV Colony used a different term. Evacuation. The Minbari were coming, and nothing EarthForce could do was going to stop them.

TABLE #3
Ancient Eyes Always Watching
Complexity Game Master Game Type Players
Introductory Vincent Johnston Full Thrust 4-8
Description
During hostile conflicts between the ESU and NAC, attrition of resources has cost both sides greatly. With the war settling down, the Sa'Vasku decide to keep it going. Witnessing a battle between the two human sides, the Sa'Vasku must decide if this is the time to enter the conflict. Engage one or both sides? Perhaps force a peace between them to strengthen an alliance against the KraVak? Or watch and take notes for future action?

TABLE #4
Barbarians at the Gate
Complexity Game Master Game Type Players
Moderate John Lerchey Dirtside 2 2-5
Description
The discovery of the "Stargate" on Earth in the late 21st Century opened the path to colonization. It also, however, opened the path to wars with new and often alien enemies. PX24513, "Tuffley's Hope" is a sparsely populated mining outpost with a defensive military presence. Mining operations have managed to pay for the cost of the colony and are beginning to turn a profit. The latest convoy of trucks is passing Checkpoint Beta when the radio crackles to life in the command center.

"Gate 1 to Command. Gate 1 to Command. We have an unscheduled activation!"
"Command to Gate 1. It's likely the new drilling gear that we requested. Keep an eye out and let us know."
"Gate 1 to Command. Roger that."
"Gate 1 to Command! They aren't our trucks! Good Lord! They're tanks and they're floating. Holy Sh..." CCCRRAAACCK!
"Command to Gate 1. Come in Gate 1."
"Command to all elements. Hostiles coming through the gate! This is NOT a drill!"

Tuffley's Hope is being invaded by an alien force with unknown but hostile intent. Can the command repel the enemy and secure the gate, or will the aliens achieve whatever their sinister goals might be?

TABLE #5
Imperial Assault

Moderate Phil Pournelle SG2 6

Ambush an Imperial Assault

TABLE #6
Carnage Con Queso 5 - Return of the Media
Complexity Game Master Game Type Players
Moderate Adrian Johnson SG2 Variant 2-8
Description
Carnage Con Queso is a "Bring Your Own Squad" Stargrunt II (well, sort of) game, in which the players are competing for resources in a confined environment. Started by Mike Sarno at GZG-ECC 4, this game has been run every year since in one form or another. Join us for some quirky and fun gaming as a break from the more "serious" events!

This year's version features the Return of the Media. For those Con Queso "Veterans" who have joined us before, you only thought you wiped out the nasty, evil reporters back during Carnage Con Queso II (at GZG-ECC 5). Well, we've got news for you... it just isn't so.

Welcome back to the hills and forests of Fromage III. The Limburgers, those feisty rulers of the poor, embattled world are at it again. They nearly wiped out their own population once a few years back. Then they exported their brand of insanity to the planet Käse and were barely repelled. Now they're facing civil war back home after the recent death of the family patriarch and his final words "to the strongest..."

The UNSC has by this point completely given up hope of ever bringing sanity and peace to this sector. They've tried negotiation. They've tried threats. They've tried embargoes. Now, they're trying money. The UN has paid a number of different private military contractors to give it another try (mostly to try to keep things out of the international press). Foreign forces have once again landed on Fromage III, and for a brief moment it looked like peace might prevail. The Limburger kin stopped fighting each other - but only to arrange their traditional reaction to foreign meddling: blockade. The mercenary troops have been cut off, and in an attempt to divide and conquer, the Limburgers have allowed a few supplies to reach the area. The starving troops have to grab what they can as quickly as possible.

For the beleaguered foreign mercs it looked like things couldn't get much worse. Then the Limburgers unleashed their secret weapon: The Media. Some Veteran Con Queso players might remember the last time Media turned up to interfere. Mike Hudak went on a rampage, tossing caution (and victory conditions) to the winds, with the single goal of wiping out ace reporter Brun Hilda and her trusty sidekicks. Well, Mike, you missed. Or maybe GNN cloned her. Or the Limburgers did it. Whatever. The important thing is that she's back. And she's annoyed. And she wants the story... Suitably protected - maybe with orbital bombardment this time.

Players must create a squad-size force to represent their mercenary company using the simple building rules provided. Each squad will have to gather as many supply containers as they can while protecting their supplies from the other squads. The GM will rate each squad prior to the game, and give Special Event Cards to players to balance out the relative strengths of the competing forces. Players can choose to create a really cheesy and powerful squad, but will receive fewer Special Event Cards. Those who choose to gamble on a weaker force will receive more cards, and have greater opportunities for sneakiness and guile. The player with the most supply points at the end of the game wins the coveted title of "Cheese King"! Players are encouraged to be as creative as they can in building their squads.

Players who have registered for the event, or are considering doing so, should visit the "Carnage Con Queso 5 - Return of the Media" page on http://www.stargrunt.ca/scenarios_aar/conqueso5/conqueso5.htm. This page has full details of the event including special scenario rules, victory conditions, and the squad building system.
