The KV have been massing between the inner edge of the D ring
and Saturn - Saturn's mass and magnetic field have masked
staggered FTL arrivals for the last few weeks. They are days
away from a lightning strike at Titan Base, the outermost major
human military base in Sol system. The humans discover the
KV presence almost too late, but launch their own
counter-surprise with the forces available. The fleet launches
from Titan Base, gains, 24 speed on the far side of the planet,
then coasts in system. KV scouts on the outer edge of the
ring system pick them up as they hit the edge of the table.
KV start at Speed 0, and not all forces will be on the table
at start (some are on the other side of the planet), but will
have a net firepower advantage.

The private survey vessel Amerigo Vespucci discovers a large spacestation
of unknown origin in orbit around the hypermass (blackhole) known as
Dark's Veil. Your intelligence service has intercepted communication
regarding this new discovery. You and your task force have been dispatched
to investigate.
For players, build a 1000 pts task force from FB1, FB2, and current beta
test designs of ships (ORC, USNC, NI, etc.). No single ship can be greater
than 500 pts. Please send your task force to me for review at azuredolfin@yahoo.com.
Hypermass space and temporal distortion will be in effect. Details for
hypermass mechanics will be presented at the event.

The Wailing Ewetani Corporation has assigned you as a troubleshooter
for a pleasant, peaceful cruise on the freighter Nostradamus. The
cargo -- a baa-ological sample for the Research Division -- is very
important. Don't worry about the extremely unlikely possibility of
finding nukes, Elder Gods, or exploding volcanos aboard the ship. The
Corporation is your friend! Keep your plasma gun handy!

New Anglian forces, operating in support of United Nations Security
Council forces (STUNFORG - STanding UN FORces Groundside), have lost
one of their birds. They want to get to the bird and recover the crew
and cargo. However, the location is remote and the first forces which
can respond and arrive on scene are UN Forces (from STUNORC - STanding
UN FORces ORbital Command), assisted by groundside follow on units of
various nationalities from STUNFORG, including NAC units.
This is just a simple rescue and crash recovery operation. Go in, find
the VTOL crew (if they are still alive, or their bodies otherwise) and
cargo, retrieve them, and then come home. Like making a cup of tea....
and everyone is on the same side, right? Of course they are.
Of course, some sage observer of history once coined the phrase "The
Devil is in the details...."
