The guy had the season from hell. Injuries, lack of training, and the pressure from the media to perform miracles like he did at Nagano. And, when he didn't perform those miracles, the media calls on him to retire. Is it just me, or is there a problem here?

Well, guess what? They're human. They'll need time to get back into shape, to get back to their best. To heal. We shouldn't expect miracles from them, and put them in circumstances that can rush them back too soon. That's just logical, if people would just stop and think for a moment.
For the rest of you, who expect miracles as a matter of course -- take a step back, take a deep breath, and leave them alone for a while. They might surprise you.
And if you can't wait, you're perfectly welcome to lace up the skates and try to do what they do. Go ahead, if you're so smart. I dare you. Let's see if you got the guts, you cowards.
