The Warpfish Chronicles

"27 years on the planet, and I still haven't figured out what's going on."

Around the World, Warpfish Style III -- July 16th, 2001

Busy time at work, which means I haven't done any of these lately, even though there's been a lot to talk about.

Mostly, however, it deals with human emotion and human pride overriding human rationality. Stockwell Day, Ireland, and the Middle East are examples of this.

There are also examples of the plain politcking that makes the world go around, but, by God, sometimes it makes you sick. Jean Chretien's Liberal party, and the awarding of the 2008 Olympics to Beijing are two examples.

(Is it just me, or does anybody else find it ironic that people took offense at Mel Lastman's stupid remark, while quietly overlooking the fact that China shoots people. And, BTW, I may be Chinese, but I sure as hell don't like China. There's a little island off the coast called Taiwan that I'm rooting for.)

There have been good things however -- the power of the strength of love. Shai and Nadine's wedding, and Hugh's son Colin, are examples of this.

There has been humour -- from the Staircase Theatre, and, once again, Stockwell Day. (8-)

The world continues to rotate, no matter what we do, showing us human life in all its beauty and ugliness, showing us our place as an important piece, but only a piece.
