The Warpfish Chronicles

"27 years on the planet, and I still haven't figured out what's going on."

Dark Shadow -- September 18th, 2001

It has not been the best week on this planet. Personally, professionally, and in the world -- there has been terror, there has been fear, there has been horror.

September 11th, 2001 will be remembered as a day the universe changed, when we saw that the barbarians were still at the gate; that the New World Order turned out to be merely an illusion, a mirage that thirsty men and women sought to drink from. I'm not going to comment much more on this. People everywhere have stated their opinions, and how it affected their personal lives -- all I can add is my sorrow, and my prayers.

Then, the following weekend, all the news that would form tragedies in and of itself, instead formed harmonics, reinforcing the horror of the past week and making everything that much stronger. The crash of Alex Zinardi. The crash of the bus in Sweden.

Things have hit close to home; a friend being emotionally overwhelmed from all sides. I, myself, am not on the best of emotional footings at the moment.

The dark shadow of the past week is drifting over us. All the beauty that this world can contain is in danger of being blotted out by this dark. As we move to heal from what has happened over the past week, we must take joy in the good things.

If only it wasn't so hard.
