more dental fun

So, you know that last dentist visit I had? My tooth was fine for about 48 hours, and now it's back to exactly where it was before. I'm obviously just thrilled with this. I made another appointment with the dentist yesterday, and was sort of looking forward to doing more origami while having the tooth re-fixed.

Today, the tooth is the same. Nothing got fixed. And I may be in for some rather unpleasant dental work.

hate the dentist? learn origami

One of my molars has been sensitive to pressure for the past couple of months. A few weeks ago it escalated into a temperature sensitivity as well, so I finally got around to seeking dental help. My first appointment didn't really do much - they took some x-rays, and gave me a week's worth of antibiotics to see if it was an infection. No dice there. So last night I came in for my follow-up, where they finally diagnosed it as a cracked tooth.

While I was glad for the diagnosis and am now enjoying chewing on both sides of my mouth with no temperature or pressure sensitivity, I don't exactly enjoy being in the dentist's chair. I noticed that my heart was pounding and my hands were shaking. Thankfully, I figured out how to occupy myself to the point that I became very relaxed: I did some origami.

5 things you didn't know about me

I've been tagged for my very first meme. OK... I'll play along (even though I knew 4 of the 5 things about Mike that I wasn't supposed to). :)

Da Bears... blew it!

I am so not into sports, it's not even funny. When I was recently invited to a SuperBowl party by a friend from church, I wasn't so sure about it. However, after some consideration I decided I would randomly pick a team (Da Bears, only because I sorta remember the Saturday Night Live sketches about same), and go for the socializing, food, and to see all the purportedly amazing US$2.6M ads. I hear they're usually quite good.

So last night, I packed up my "salty snacks" (everyone coming had to bring food from a different category) and headed out to see my first SuperBowl game ads. And the game.

What a bummer.
