higher learning?

I've been considering doing something I never thought I'd bother with. Back when I was laid off, my dad opined that I should get an MBA or something, and even offered to finance the whole thing. Well, any Master's degree was that last thing I was considering doing. I briefly looked into it, and let the whole thing die.

Well, tonight I'm going to an information session for a Master's degree. Go figure.

focus is good

After my second career advisor appointment back in January, I decided that networking myself into a job is a method well worth a try. I got one letter off, and am still working that contact, but my second one was destined for a company that apparently no longer exists. After that, things petered out pretty quickly, much to my distaste.

Over the past few days, however, I have not only send out a number of broadcast letters, but have a relatively large list of further recipients that I wish to send my information to. The difference between then and now? Focus.

man in the bright white sports car

Way back I mentioned the possibility that I'd be the uncommonly fortunate recipient of a free car. My wife's friend is having twins, and thus her university-era runabout no longer fits in her life. Sad for her, bonus for me. I recently got to finally see the vehicle, and I was simply stunned.

they love me, just not right now

I almost long for the days back in January where I had to post twice a day just to keep everyone updated. Those times, while somewhat stressful and confusing, at least kept me alert and thinking. Right now the opposite is happening, despite many possibilities on the horizon.
